Hello all, I tried earlier today to post this, but I understand Axiom's server was down.....due to incessant posting by kcarlile, pmbuko, and sirquack. I have yet to aquire a bluray player. Generally speaking, has anyone who has been following bluray releases, noticed if many titles are going out of print....similar in rate to the way CDs and DVDs have in the past? I bought a few DVDs back in the day before I had a DVD player, and sure enough some of them were already out of print when I got my player. I may do this again, if need be. Oh yes, M60's rule! And......."No feel bad" jonk. Larry

I haven't noticed them going out of print, but I do notice that the prices for new releases on Blu Ray during their first week are significantly cheaper than if purchased later, even through eBay.
For example, most Blu Ray's carry a $40 MSRP, retail for $22 - 30 and can be purchased on Tuesday - Saturday of their release week for $17 -22.
So, while they will still likely be available once you get your player, if it's a title you KNOW you're going to want, then it might make sense to buy right away. Lots of Blu Rays come with 3 discs, too - the Blu disc, the DVD and a digital copy. So, in the meantime before you get your player, you'll still be able to enjoy the content on DVD.

Hello all, Generally speaking, has anyone who has been following bluray releases, noticed if many titles are going out of print....similar in rate to the way CDs and DVDs have in the past? Some of the smaller labels will have titles go OOP. For example Criterion has several releases that have gone OOP. BCI only released a few Blu-Ray titles and then the company went under, so those too are OOP.

I've found this website great. Blu-Ray.comDecent reviews of the discs, and great tools for finding the best deals. There are some seriously good deals out there quite often.

I second the choice of using Blu-Ray.com. Their reviews of video and audio quality have actually gotten me to pass up on several Bluray purchases because they weren’t going to be any real improvement over the DVD version. And the site does do a good job on monitoring and sorting of prices. I’ve gotten some real bargains, some under $10. Sometimes you can get very good deals on box sets too.
