I was using the keyboard and mouse, worked just fine, although I do have a controller. I'm just better with kb/mouse except in racing games.

Most FPS I like keyboard and mouse because they have simplistic control schemes like Counter-Strike etc. RPG's like Fallout Vegas, I find KB&M unplayable. The 360 controller is pretty sweet to use on some of the PC games.

I’ve got a few days off again and was getting a little tired of not interacting with what I was watching so I’m giving “Fallout 3” another try. I never got very far the first time because I just wasn’t feeling any love for the game.
However, so far this time it’s feeling better. I restarted from the beginning, still think that part takes to long, so I would know where I was in the game and have continuity. I’m not sure I’ve I’m getting a better handle on things but I’m not getting slaughtered by everything I meet this time around. Also gotten better at using the local map to find my way around so I’m not lost looking around Megaton for a certain building. I still think “Elder Scrolls Oblivion” looks nicer and is more varied and interesting terrain. Everything in “Fallout 3” still has the same washed out colours. OTOH I am appreciating the leveling system more in “Fallout 3” than in “Oblivion” which can be extremely tedious if you want to level efficiently. Though it is sort of fun having a 2nd level character that can kill anything with one arrow shot while sneaking.
This “Dragon Age” sounds pretty interesting so I might have to try it out.

Dragon Age is a lot of fun. I had defected to the Mass Effect crowd when the second was released for the PS3. But it had a save corrupting bug (the patch was just released) so I stopped playing it. With Dragon Age II coming out soon, I picked up the original again. It's so much deeper than Mass Effect. I found out that Dragon Age II will import your save from the first game. I didn't think they were going to do that, because the "sequel" follows a completely different character, and actually starts its story right after the first big battle of the original game. But what happens is II actually covers 10 years of story, where as the first one is probably a couple months at most. So it does become a true sequel. But why import the data from the first one? Because you make world altering choices throughout the adventure. The imported save makes it so the DA2 world is consistent with the one you created in the first. The first game, called Origins by the way, has some downloadable content that takes place after the game too (and some that takes place during, even one that is set before). Dragon Age II, can incorporate the events of: - Dragon Age: Origins
- Awakening (a $40 DLC because it's enough content to be another full game)
- The Golems of Amgarrak
- Witch Hunt
So if you play those in order always importing your data from the last (each also give you the option of creating a new character) every major event will end up reflected if the last save of Witch Hunt is brought into Dragon Age II. Amazing!

I love the washed out look of Fallout 3 and the most recent Fallout New Vegas. I find it really complements the whole nuclear "post apocalyptic" theme and atmosphere. On the contrary I don't like the film grain that is automatically set in Mass Effect 1 and 2. I always turn that off.
The Fallout and Mass Effect series are about equal to me. However, I don't remember a game that was so much improved on for a sequel than Mass Effect 2. Most sequels are basically just the same with a few tweaks here and there with different environments. Mass Effect 2 improved in every possible way over 1. Just a brilliant game.

Just from the demo, I can tell Dragon Age II pretty large improvement over Origins also. Not saying the first is bad, just the second has learned a lot along the way (the DA team doesn't work in a vacuum either, the conversation wheel from Mass Effect is now being used very effectively).

Ok I’m sold. I just order “Dragon Age Origins: Ultimate Edition” from Amazon. I was to lazy to drive over to the nearest Game Stop to see if they had it since I’m actually enjoying “Fallout 3” this time, so far. With Prime it should arrive on Saturday but sometimes I get orders the next day if I order before 4PM.
It says it contains the “Awakening Expansion Pack and all 9 additional content packs.

I didn't look at the details of the Ultimate Edition because I figured I had already bought everything that it might have. Just looked now, and wow, it even has the Feastday Gifts & Feastday Pranks. They were limited time content for Christmas 2009.
Good deal.

Yeah, I really loved playing Dragon Age Origins. I need to finish it, have been busy and haven't played it in a few weeks.

Just as I suspected “Dragon Age: Origins” arrived today instead of Saturday. Figures just when I’m actually starting to get the hang of “Fallout 3.” Life’s good when you biggest worry is which video game to play.
