Is this going to become a snigglets thread?

If you ask me, which you did...
I say get a single pair of QS8's right now. Soak up the sweetness of 5.1 with that pair, and later down the road add a second pair if you can't swing paying for both now.
I also whole-heartedly suggest buying your QS8's from the factory outlet. Why pay full price? Axiom's "B stock" is 99.9% cosmetically perfect, and 100% perfect audio-wise.
Sounds like you've got a sweeeet setup going. I'm a very jealous guy!

amer,
We'll try and get this thread back on track for you.
Joe (at Axiom) told me that the extra 5% usually is not offered, but if you ask about it when you place the order, it is available. If you are going to call, and I think you should, you should really probe the 4 vs. 8 decision based on the room size. I'd hate to see you almost get enough speaker.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

If you anticipate listening to any DVD-A or SACD content, get a pair of QS8's for surrounds, and a pair of M2's or M22's for rears. These will sound much better for multichannel audio.

Exactly, and considering how much cheaper M22's and M2's are than QS8's, that would save you money.
I say get QS8's for the sides, and M22's/M2's for the rears. The Dolby spec actually recommends direct radiating speakers for the surround back channels.
Also, the direct radiators are better for DVD-A/SACD. Although QS8's still work out great.

Well went ahead and order the QS8's. I'm an impatient bugger so couldn't wait the 6 weeks for the factory seconds, just went ahead and bought them.
