Wow, is the ep800 big. like wow. But here's the thing. This is the in-cabinet version and it has 4, yes, 4 sets of binding posts. And there are 4 on the amp they sent. Do I really need to hook up 4 pair of speaker wires to it? I hope not. I only ran one in the theater for it and the walls are already up. Anyone from Axiom or that has experience with big ass subs, please help!

Yes they all need to be hooked up and they must be done properly. Please read the manual carefully or call Brent for assistance.

There's an in-cab EP800?

There is an in cabinet 800. I'll post some pics at some point. I won't have my new room dones for 6-8 weeks, but I may try and put it into service in my family room tonight.

Brent called. there is indeed 4 seperate amps in the amplifier Axiom provided which requires 4 sets of speaker wire to be connected. Although none are labeled so I took for granted it didn't matter which would go to which. Are you saying Steve each set will only go to a pre determined set of posts?

Also, it's too new. No manual as of yet.

I must be missing something - won't you simply be connecting a sub cable (RCA or XLR) to the line in on the back of the sub? Are you specifically planning to use the speaker level inputs?

I just looked at the manual for the EP800 online and it must be out of date as it does not show 4 sets of binding posts.

I'm guessing that the in-wall version has a separate amp box that goes outside the wall.

each pair of amps should go to the same speaker. each amp powers 1 set of voice coils per speaker (each speaker as 2 sets of voice coils). i would say, theoretically since you are using 1 signal, all amp channels will have the same input-> same output, so it "should not" matter what you hook up to what, as long as you get the polarities correct + to + and - to -...

Are the binding posts labeled in any way?

Nope. Nothing is labeled so I think your right. It sounds and feels great.

cb919. The in cab has a seperate amplifier. The sub cable runs to it and four pair of speaker wires run to the sub.

So my 800 has a 60hz hum. Upon taking out the ground loop screw, the hum is gone. Great. My question is what is this screw's purpose that I can just simply take it out without causing any issues.
