I'd replace it anyway. Because every time I looked at the smooshed speaker, I'd get mad all over again.

So sorry to hear about the burglary. It happened to me a while ago and I really felt violated. The only bright spot was my insurance really paid off and I ended up with a whole lot of new stuff. I'd definitely include the speaker in the claim. If you can fix it yourself, use the money for something else (like an alarm system or a dog).

I have used masking tape with success in the past when my 2 year old daughter was 'testing out' my in-laws brand new Paradigm Signatures. But as for the insurance claim, I agree with the others and I'd replace the speaker, especially with that damage outside of the dust cap.
