Denon 3802 stumper??

Ok here's the deal...My 3802 that I have had for a few years suddenly stopped producing sound from the surround speakers in DD, DPL2, and 5 channel stereo. The kicker is when I put it into a DSP simulation, i.e., widescreen, stadium, jazz club, well all of them for that matter, they all produce sound from the surround speakers. Is it possible to have a bad circuit switch thats preventing power for channels to kick on?

anything's possible. it could be that the chip that performs the surround settings that is used in the settings you mentioned is failed and it not producing rear sound.

it could also be that you changed a setting somewhere and don't know.

try emailing Denon and see what they have to say.

Have you tried re-setting all of your settings and then proceeding as if the receiver were new out of the box?

Not yet Will...I'm waiting to see if someone had the miracle cure, but that's what I'll do, default everything and see if it shakes something loose

I found the problem and I'm blaming it on the kids. Some how the speaker config for DD and 5 channel stereo got changed...I haven't been in that menu for 2 years. I would blame the dog but...anyhoo, thanks for the replies
