So let's say I've narrowed it down to Denon and am debating between the 3803 (or possibly the 3805) and the 2803. In a living room that's 18 X 22 w/vaulted ceilings will the 2803 be enough power-wise, or is the 3803 absolutely necessary? As I stated in my last post, music will be the main focus (75%), and ht will be the rest. Thanks again.

The 2803 will be more than adequate. The difference between the 2803 and 3803 really boils down to the 3803 having better amps/power supply, better (but hardly noticeable) audio circuitry, video upconversion and a little more power. The 2803 is an excellent choice.
Go forward and spend.

If music is your main focus, why not get the 3805. It is definately more future proofed than the other two receviers, having "Denon Link," for multi channel music. Also, the 3805, and I think the 3803, have higher quality BurrBrown DAC's than the 2803 does. The 3805 also has video upconversion, meaning it will take your S-Video and Composite signals, and convery them to Component, meaning less cables going from the receiver to the TV/PJ.
