Hi,
I am looking to get a subwoofer to compliment my M80s.
They will be part of an (eventual) all Axiom 7.1 system in a 3300 cubic foot home theater.
What I am looking for is a sub that will provide plenty of LFE for movies - "musicality" is of secondary importance.
So my question is what does the 500 provide that would be missing with the 350?
At first blush the specs seem similar - will the extra $500.00 be that noticeable in movie watching?
Any comments are welcome - thanks.

A LOT more bottom end. The -3db point of the 350 is 27 Hz. For the EP500 its 18 Hz. You will get much more movie rumble from the EP500.

N, welcome. As Fred points out, the spec for low end extension measured anechoically isn't similar. The EP350 shows a 28Hz number on a +/- 3dB standard, while the EP500 shows 18Hz at a tighter +/- 1.5dB range. If these measurements were taken using the same procedures, it indicates an advantage for the EP500 of at least 10Hz.

Just something to think about, I have a one year old EP500 and a 4 month old EP800, the 500 is awesome, have already replaced top sub on 800 (still waiting for product in fact), kinda wished I would have bought 2 more 500's instead.
