I agree. I wasn't endorsing their actions but just speculating as to their mindset. I appreciate when a band introduces all the musicians on stage.

Rush is amazing, but Geddy has admitted that the challenge of reproducing their music live has led them to rely on off stage personnel for live help, such as programming synths and such. They refer to those people collectively as "Jack Secret."

Aw man. It's a good thing I wasn't there. If I paid for a specific seat and was forced NOT to use it just to see the stage, I'd be pretty pissed. laugh

Perhaps you need to rethink it as having paid for a specific place. I expect to stand for a least a portion of a rock concert, depending on who it is. Probably not for a folk or blues session but for a punk rock band famous for creating a frenzy, I arrived prepared to be on my feet.

I hear ya though. Last year at Rush, the crowd began to stand part way through the second set. I had an older gentleman behind me who wasn't going to be on his feet. I remained seated so he would not have to fight for a view. I was in a row with a rail and slight drop in front of me, so I was lucky that I could still see most of the stage seated.

With great power comes Awesome irresponsibility.

There's nothing better than having sore and stiff post-concert legs that are stuck motionless in a car for one hour just getting out of the venue's parking lot, and then for an additional hour or two on the drive home. smile

Alright, I got two tickets in the front row at the Eagles concert in Vancouver. I don't think there could be a better way to celebrate my 50th birthday. cool

wow...quite possibly the best concert I've ever seen. I've seen Prince five times now, and every time is a great performance. Last night though, with his new band he seemed to be playing for himself and having a blast - the fact that there was an audience didn't seem to matter. It was incredible. If you get a chance to see any of these new shows with 3rd Eye Girl don't pass it up. It's NOT the Prince you hear on the radio. Not by a long shot.

So glad you got to see that show, Craig.

I considered going to the Seattle show; it's in a very small venue, but tickets were $350. I just couldn't.
