Looking to weigh down the bottom of my FMS stands to add a bit of stability. 3 year old and 2 crazy cats in the house. Any suggestions on how to seal the hollow bottom part of the stand? I know a you can buy the rubber steal balls and they include a plate but I'm looking to avoid spending almost $200 on stand weights. Want to just use bags of sand or cat litter.

I think sand may be a little small, and end up being messy.

Maybe aquarium gravel? That'll be inexpensive. Or if you can find a large quantity of it, steel shot.

put a bit of expanding sprayfoam in the bottom to seal the posts, then fill them with play sand?

Thanks for the suggestion. Expanding sprayfoam seems like it would be perfect for sealing the bottoms. Exactly what I was looking for. I'll probably use sand, but put it in plastic bags to avoid the mess.

Pea gravel might be an inexpensive option.
