So I'm laying in bed reading. Well, surfing the net. Anyway, my 14 year old is in the basement playing music on the big system. Some crappy pop song ends, and I can't believe my ears - she puts on Otis Redding - These Arms of Mine - LOUD. I have the biggest smile on my face when all of a sudden, her younger sister starts belting out the lyrics. Holy. Crap. Overload. There is hope for my children.

That's great, Shawn! As for the pop music, I hope your girls don't like Justin Bieber!

Its a wonderful feeling when you wake up one day to realize that your kids are all growed up and, despite all your bumbling and your worst fears, they turned out pretty good. Here's wishing you many more of those moments.
