I was thinking about getting this one
http://www.monstercable.com/power/productPagePower.asp?pin=1315
I dont know if it would be worth the 500$ though...?
my current set up is
Eic 60 system with a vp150
marantz sr6300 receiver
marantz mm9000 5 channel amp.. the amp is good for about 150-170watts per channel.
Sony 400 disk DVD changer
and a Sony 27" wega
the reason I ask if its worth the money, is that I currently have no noise in my audio, the other day with 0 input, I turned the volume almost all of the way up, and there was 0 hiss, so I don't know if I would benefit from spending the 500$ or if I should just save the cash...?
thanks for any advice!

If you don't have a noise problem, I'd spend your money on a good surge suppressor instead. You want to protect yout equipment, but don't need the extra noise circuitry.
I've actually heard some people say that a line conditioner made things worse for them.

You would probably see absolutely no benefit in the sound. You might see benefit in the protection against power surges, but you could also get that with a line conditioner costing $300 less.

APC is well known in the computer biz (stuff is generally cheaper there, because they don't have the audiophile tax of 4000% attached.) Tripplite is what Saturn uses. The LCR 2400 to be specific. I personally don't think that changint hte power protection will make any difference in the power; that's what your components have huge power supplies for.

Yeah, Monster Marketing strikes again. "Conditioning" your power - please!. The surge supressor is a good one as it affords protection to your gear. When you look for one, all you rerally want to be concerned with are:
1) The Joules protection. Belkin (or Beldin) makes one for around $40-$50 with +/_ 2800 joules and it is available at Home Depot.
2) Enough sockets to plug everything in.
3) A phone line connection and connection(s) for cable, Satellite or antenna.
The one I mentioned should should fit the bill.

I actually had a cable guy say that running the cable through one of those things degrades the signal. I didn't know whether to believe him or not. But I did what he said. Now I'm degrading the signal sufficently by using a splitter and a switchbox, so, whatever...
