Alright guys I'm all jammed up. I ordered a VP180 a while back. It should be here soon and I can't find a stand that will fit this monster. I need a stand that can house the 180, 2 100LB amps, a blu-ray player, a pre-amp, a PS4, and a DSP. I'm not worried about price but I need to find something soon so building it or having it built isn't really an option. The closest thing I've found to fitting the VP180 is made by Salamander Designs but according to the specs it's about a 1/2" shy of fitting. I don't know where else to look so I thought I'd reach out here to see what other VP180 owners are using.

I'd like to suggest you don't stick your $1000 center speaker in a cabinet. I don't think Axiom engineered it for that use case.

Jeff, Mojo makes a good point. Are you using the VP180 with a flat screen or a Projector screen. If you are using a flat screen tv, is it mounted on the wall? Are you trying to hide your equipment or would an open stand work for you.

I went out and bought a BESTÅ TV stand from IKEA. For my purposes, I got the one that is 24" high and the VP180 will sit ontop of it as that puts it about the right height to be blow where the TV will be mounted on the wall (still waiting for my wall mount to be delivered). It is also aligned up with the smaller woofers on my LFR's. If you have smaller speakers like the M80's then it would align with the tweeters.
The unit is pretty much a very dark brown so it is not distracting in the room. I put on the dark grey tinted glass doors onto the front as I don't have the amp requirements that you have. My amp stack is located to the side of the room out of the way.
I do however have my HTPC located in the middle storage bay behind a shorter glass door and routed the remote sensor up to the open area. I have also put my Blu-ray player there. it will be replaced by a new unit when the UHD blu-rays come to market next year and the prices drop to a reasonable level. I was planning to get a unit that has dual HDMI output so I can send the sound out on one hdmi to the amp and have a direct cable out to the TV as my pre-amp doesn't support 4k video.
I will think about posting some pictures once I get the rest of the parts in wednsday or thursday.

I have a V.P.160 and used these forums for a guide in my placement. Started with the T.V. on top, The packing foam that comes with the Speakers is fantastic as it's large enough to accommodate most T.V. bases. And won't scratch your beautiful speaker. That I learned here in the forum. Best Buy usually put sales on their units. I got one with the T.V. mount included, Most dual stands have suitable T,V. mount that can be removed and used as wall mount as well. Just be certain the unit is suited to the weight. As it is a huge beast that will pretty well take up any large stand.

Mojo, since I can't find anything I have resorted to building my own. I was thinking about using 1" black Iron threaded pipe with floor flanges at the top and bottom of each piece connecting the pipe to each shelf. This way I can buy the pipe to the sizes I need for each shelf. Essentially I would have a board on the bottom, a twelve inch space to the next board, a six inch space to the next and a ten inch space to the top shelf. So that's four corner pipes per level and there would be some more support pipes in the middle which would create three 19 inch wide spaces for gear on the bottom two levels. The top level would be wide open housing the center channel. With this design there would be no solid walls on any side of the unit. So if you're still following me, do you see a reason this free air stand would be bad for SQ? I have a mill that sent me a quote for some very nice wood and I was thinking about pulling the trigger tomorrow. . And thank you everybody for your feedback. It's nice to have people to think this stuff through with

Socketman, I have a 55" t.v. on a stand. I don't want to wall mount it. As far as hiding it... no. I love the look of all the equipment. Amps and speakers. I spent extra getting QS8's, the VP180 and M100's all done in Brazilian Rosewood with a high gloss finish. The finish is stunning so I want to enjoy hearing and seeing them lol

That sounds much better, Jeff. Try to position the center so the drivers are flush or in front of the top shelf. Also try to decouple the center from the shelf. Not sure if axiom provides spikes or rubber feet with at beast.

Cool cool. I'm going to pull the trigger and go with this idea. I found some nice looking couplings for the pipes that I think I'll use to juice it up a little. So I'll use two 6" pipes with couplings in the middle for the bottom shelf and 3" pipes with couplings for the middle and 5" pipes with couplings for the top shelf. I'm going to have the mill rip me a reveal for the face of each shelf that I can put some phone app controled led lighting behind. They can have everything cut by Friday so hopefully I can have this sewn up by Sunday. I'll post a few pictures when it's all done.

So the mill finished the wood and I picked it up today. The four pieces ended up 19" wide, 1" thick and 68" long. I also got a 1" reveal for each shelf. The wood is sapele which is a type of mahogany. According to Wikipedia it's commonly used for guitars, flooring and other random things. It's super dense, strong as hell and it'll deal with the heat better than most wood. I started with the first of three coats of clear satin poly tonight and it's looking real nice. I'll do two more coats and then it's build time. I finally got the shipping email from Axiom and FedEx today so this might come together just in time.

When I clicked on a link I was asked for a Google account to see the pictures... seems like that might be a problem for displaying them in the thread.

Many ISPs include a bit of web server space for free, and you can usually upload/serve pics from there. When I say "a bit" I mean in 21st century terms, like a GB or so.

So now I'm trying to place the QS8's and I ordered the stands. Problem is I didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars filling them with the weighted balls they sell for wayyyyyy to much money. So I need an alternative. Anybody come up with a good option?

At the moment sounds like its temporary. That's a pretty hefty amp whats not to like? BTW whats your handle over at the Emo forum.
I have a XMC as well, its been a long journey to audio nirvana but I believe I am really there and do not long for anything else . The XMC-1 checks all the box's for me.

Oh I love the amp! I plan to add to it is all. Hopefully I can grab an XPR-2 before they're sold out. The XPR is next just because they won't have 'em for long. Then 2 SB-13Ultra's, 2 more QS8's and a WD 24TB EX4. Then I have to stop cause I'll be poor. I haven't even had the chance to tune the XMC-1. I'm waiting on the QS8 stands. But I'm psyched to dig in for sure. I'm not on the XMC forum as of yet but I'll get there eventually. I work a lot of hours so it's tight squeezing in time to chat and read etc.

What are you running for speakers off the XMC? Is there a way to view your system here?

That was the only pics I had of the center channel and that was back when I was using my Denon 3311 and those speakers were wides. The lamp has never moved , the M80's are heavy .
