Oooh! Radiused wall edges and wooden blinds. I like, I like.

Oh, the HT is nice, too.

Hey Jack, I almost forgot to mention why I include that pic of the back wall (other than to show off the genuine basswood shutters - painted white ).

As can be seen by the photo the QS8s are VERY far apart, 8' off the ground, 1' of clearance to the ceiling and not pointed at the LP. For the above reasons I was toying w/ the idea of adding more power to my system. Instead, I may try using the FMB, or some such, to angle the QS8s in and down toward the LP. It may allow me to turn the surrounds down a bit when calibrating and will certainly provide a better surround field than the current positioning allows.

Where they are now they sound like direct radiating speakers. When I had QS8s on stands right behind the LP the surround effects were pretty stunning.

Watched 4 movies this Spring Break!!! "Open Range", "Gods and Generals", "The Italian Job", and "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen". I highly recommend them all save the latter - it's only redeeming quality is the sound effects.

The shutters look really great.

I'd recommend doing whatever is necessary to get the QS8s back to sounding like they used to. I am so happy with mine, and I don't even have them optimally positioned yet. Hope the FMB can do the trick for you. I would think having the right QS8 up against a wall, as it appears, would contribute to it sounding like a direct radiator. Ain't it awful how we have to compromise because of room/furniture considerations. Makes one wish for a dedicated home theater room. Maybe in my next life.

How DID you run the wires to the surrounds; fish 'em up through the wall? Regardless, a very good job.

Didn't you love the rain and thunder in "open Range"? WOW!

I was going to mention the storms in Open Range if nobody else did. Very cool - as was the big shootout. "Monsoon Wedding" (?) - an Indian film - also has cool rain effects. Shows off the Axioms well.

I like your setup. Just think, if you don't have a rat shack spl, the kid in the bouncy thing can be used to set the sub output! I wonder how long your grills will last when he escapes the plastic entrapment? I guarantee you he'll run that walk behind toy right smack into your Axioms. All you can do is laugh and order replacements.

My aide started her own business on the side. She buys furniture wholesale and then, well, she sells it. I pointed her in the direction of the company she gets her furniture from, so she hooks me up w/out any markup. She told me the price for that rack for you guys would be $100. Not bad considering she has to drive to LA to get them. And the fact that anything short of garage sale items will run you far more than that. There are a few other styles available. Let me know if you're seriously interested.
The wires (I'm assuming you guys meant for the surrounds?) run down the wall in cordmate plastic thingees. One QS8 has the wires running along the top of the shutters before coming down to the floor, going under the carpet and under the couch. Speed bump effect, but WTF...

Peter, he is not walking yet. He crawls pretty damn fast though.
