I’m wondering if there are any Clapton fans here who would care to recommend a Clapton concert Blu-ray for me? Looking to give this as a Christmas gift for a family member. I’m not familiar at all with his many live shows that I’ve seen available. Thanks in advance Jeff

I'm a huge EC fan & have most of his DVD/Blu Ray concerts. Any of his offerings after the mid 90s are recorded to the highest standard. Older concerts were a victim of the technology of the day & don't sound as good as the later stuff.
'Unplugged' is great if you like acoustic. I prefer electric blues & highly recommend the following:
Live in Hyde Park - Still one of my favs. Although a bit aged now, it was the concert that started a world tour that I saw in Vancouver (the final show of the tour). Great blues content & sound.
Live On Tour 2001 - One more Car One more Rider - done in LA.
EC & Steve Winwood - Live in Madison Square Garden. Eric plays 'Voodoo Chile' for the first time - wonderful.
EC - Planes, Trains & Eric - mid & far east tour 2014.
EC Slowhand at 70 - Live at the Royal Albert Hall - 1 Blu Ray plus 2 CDs boxed set. Excellent.
Eric has a bad back now & his touring days may be numbered.
I suggest Blu Ray if you can get it. I play all of these in surround on my HT system - wonderful to my ears.
Hope this helps...

If you had to pick only one TAM based on SQ alone, which would it be?

Well, they are a bit different in that Slowhand is all Clapton whereas he teams up with Winwood for the NY Concert. So there is a mixture of material from both artists. Winwood is known for his keyboard prowess; however, I didn't know that he plays a pretty mean Fender as well.
Both are outstanding. Hell - buy both...

I'm gonna buy both. I have an Ibanez. I'll play along with them.

If you like blues, both electric & acoustic, another excellent EC album (DVD) is 'Sessions for Robert J'.
Although it is not a 'concert', it is a wonderful up close look at Eric & his fellow musicians paying homage to the works of one of the most famous original bluesmen - Robert Johnson.
Outstanding audio/video quality in this recording...
