Did my first run already. Seems good so far, with all the new settings has a strong resemblance to REW.

You can check and tune freely to your likings now.

I think it's more coherent through DTSX at the moment.
Spent most of the day trying to run it. B.S. kept getting in the way mic. errors etc. Probably 3/4 hours to run it. Last 2 hours darn good so far.
The new set up really allows full customization along with full REW style graphs views etc.

Through forum browsing. All the issues I was having seem quite common at the moment. If your going more REW extreme or taking to long between measurements the program has a critical error. Mic lost or some B.S.

As for the program it's really comprehensive, you can set all your own parameters. Or just use the N.R.C. conjunction targets built in.
Took me hours to run it!!! Kept resetting. {Using the base targets} {LFE 120Hz, rest of speakers 80Hz} Plus with the sub's at same level of previous version kept getting a turn down sub 3Db. message. Probably turned the gain from a 3rd of where it originally was, now at maybe 45% of total volume from about 60% on the dials

As for the sound it's more balanced and the sub's seem more blended. If possible with the amount of subs Amp. decreased.

Have seen many recommendations to run subs hotter, with lower processor volume for improved impact. {Use the sub. Amp for volume as opposed to your Pre, AVR.} Definitely not scientific or probably researched. I think logical due to the point of a sub and its crossover being to let an AVR have a break and focus on Mid trebles with out maxing power?

Hopefully they get all the bugs sorted soon.

It is much better than any Audessey I ever had. They probably just have a couple hiccups {bugs}to work out and pushed the launch. Even the older version out performed Audessey.
To which the forum I was browsing about the issues. One guy said he contacted Anthem and they told him to wait a little for the bugs to be worked out.

I just ran ARC Genesis for with my Anthem MRX-1120 tonight. Just did the auto mode and not the "professional" mode with all of the options. Zero issues. Was done in about 6-7 minutes.

As good as ARC 2 was, Genesis is even better. I spent the last almost 3 hours just listening to demo material because everything was so much better, particularly Atmos and DTS:X material.

The only thing that I got was the "please turn your sub(s) down by 3dB" message. I just turned my subs down a tiny bit and hit resume and it went on with no issues. No lacking bass from ARC 2, in fact it had a little more punch without being boomy and was smoother with the rest of the audio, whether movie or music.

If tomorrow wasn't Mother's Day, I would mess around with the pro mode and set up a house curve and set it to ignore correcting anything above somewhere around 200-500Hz

Sorry that you are having problems.

Think I just forgot to do the firmware update on the Anthem. Did one earlier today haven't re tried yet. The first day I managed to run through one and seemed better not sure if any thing different with another run. But curiosity did kill the cat. So I ultimately need another run of Genesis.

Doug Schneider from SoundStage just posted this on Facebook today:

Quote:
Big, BIG, *BIG* news in the hi-fi industry today. Original Paradigm Speakers cofounder Scott Bagby and his son John Bagby have purchased 100% of Paradigm, MartinLogan, and Anthem!

Hopefully this speeds up instead of slows down any product launches by Anthem.

What is the value that Martin Logan brings to the table in that deal?

I was thinking of buying Axiom and Bryston. I'd call it Braxiom. Everyone could keep their current jobs and all the profits. I'd even fund a brewery that Andrew can play with. I'd want a few things on the roadmap though. I'd want Linear Frequency Everywhere Radiators. Drivers on top, drivers on bottom, drivers all around. That would please Craig because he wouldn't need a centre. I'd want 8" woofers to please 2x6. And I'd want a tube version of the ADAs - again to please 2x6. I'd also want an Air LFRNM1 ('nad mass) with 600W a side, a 300W sub and built-in dilithium generator for power. I'd give Slimpikins, bman, brwsaw, Bridgman, CV, brendo, 2x6 and Craig one of everything just because I could. I'd change the Bryston mini A to a 5" mid and leave the price the same. Anyone with v3 or earlier would automagically get v4 shipped for free (even you mattmanhasgonebutisbackagain). Not Alan, TAM or Johnk though because they love their legacy M22s. And for trade-in, I'd take any speaker to fuel the factory furnace. Ian can have whatever the hell he wants. I'd commission a statue of him hugging an LFR. I'd hire young maidens to rub warm ferro fluid on his Scottish hairy back while he works by the chamber. I'd buy all of Dwight and the surrounding forests and turn it into Braxiomland - a playground for nerds. Everyone from any Canadian speaker or amp manufacturer would get free housing and double their current salary as long as they agreed to work on the Braxiom Master Plan - to create an intergalactic Braxiom Air Network.

We need a theme song for this. We could go A: spiritual with "Kumbaya" ... OR ... B: realistic with "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw."

B is probably right.

Did Another run of the new A.R.C. yesterday. No issues at all. According to the firm ware update info, was more related to wireless issues with play fi.
With music it seems more fluid or blended. I like the Anthem logic setting {all channels minus center}. Gives a massive center image yet the backing voices and percussions creep in eerily to the rear. Much larger than basic stereo setting but very similarly balanced with my 5.2.2.
No movies as of yet.

Craig, maybe you need some help with all those speakers, eh? If you have a room out at the barn, I can give you a hand.
