I bought my first mechanical keyboard recently (HyperX Alloy Elite 2) after messing up the Microsoft Natural 4000 I've been using for forever. It's a gaming one, but it's already given me the itch to do a custom at some point with hot swappable switches. It may be a while before I settle on what I'm going for aesthetically. In the meantime, I also bought my first artisan keycap, which I didn't know was a thing. It's the Pip-Boy from the Fallout games.

One of my freinds kids used to (still is?) make crazy money building keyboards and selling them on ebay …It’s definitely a thing! I think he also bought and resold hot & hard to find sneakers (for also crazy money) … Be surprised if he has time now that he is in collage.

I like the idea of changing the escape button to an eject button!

There are some crazy ones out there. Just search for artisan keycaps on Etsy and do some browsing!

rrlev, I should really go down the rabbit hole something like this and get a side hustle going. It seems like a good time. I just get nervous about money changing hands, like, is my stuff going to pass muster?
