Been trying out two Outlaw Mono Blocks. Not sure if they are an improvement. Initial impression is not impressed. Anyone have any thoughts?

what was your amp before?
Your impressions go into the "when used within their limits, SS amps tend to sound the same" pile.

I am using a NAD T743 receiver (rated 5 X 50, 2 X 70). Now using the monoblocks for the front on M22s. I'm getting the M60s to replace the M22s in a day or two.
I think your right though about the samey bit but I do love to crank it though (at opportune times).
I suspect there may be a bit more punch and bass. I liked the sound of the NAD however. Maybe I need to let them play and try only the NAD after a week and then I'll see a difference.
I don't think this is a complaint, rather, a comparison. I'm overjoyed with my system.

I love my Outlaw M200s. I'm a little timid about jumping in to start a discussion that not all amps sound the same. I was using a Marantz SR7000 for comparison. Then used a B&K as the pre/pro.
My personal observation is that the difference/value was most evident in highly dynamic passages in music/movies where that extra power was available.

Plink, that's a good idea. Keep the M22s on the monoblocks for a week or so -- making sure to play them loud at times. Then put them back on the NAD and see if you notice any difference. If you do, it's most likely to be evident during moments of big bass or high transients (softness to sudden loudness). The monoblocks will be able to provide more instantaneous current than the NAD.
It'll be a close call whether you can actually hear the difference, but peace of mind counts for something.
