You don't have the QS8s pointed inward at all though, right?

The speakers are tilted inwards. The inner most corner is 1/2 in. away from the wall and the outer most is about 2 1/2 in. away from the wall. It's not much of an inward twist but with the diffusion of the sound it really doesn't matter.

BigWill, the FMB work very well for the QS8s, you can angle them in pretty much any direction.

The only problem I have had with the FMB specifically is the crappy 2 inch wood screws that are sent to hold them on the wall. 2 of my 6 completely stripped the heads while putting them in, and 2 others were somewhat stripped. Replacement screws from Canadian Tire are only a few cents a piece, and none of the replacement screws stripped. I swear the metal on the included wood screws is weaker.

Getting back to the original topic, I mounted the VP150 with the washer still attached to the VP150, and so far no problems with it, so, as the old saying goes "if it ain't broke..." I'll try to take the washer off if I run into problems in the future.

Those are special sacrificial screws - they tear apart themselves rather than risking damaging your cordless screwdriver bit. It's not a flaw, it's a feature!

Have you consider tweaking your sound by replacing them with audio-grade screws? I'll sell you a dozen for, say - $50CDN - no shipping, they'll widen your soundstage and increase presence.

I had the same problem with those screws...I just used some drywall screws instead.
