Most of you board frequenters know that I do not own Axioms, but read the forum.
I just wanted to let all of you know that I think it is a great forum and that I enjoy reading it when I can. Great information, great discussions, and great different points of view.
You have your flair ups now and then too, but they usually die out without too much pain. As long as we all respect the right to opinions, there should not be any issues.
Great forum and great members.

Curtis - well spoke!
I appreciate the opportunity this forum provides to learn. Your contributions are always enlightening, and your expertise with Ascend and Hsu adds to the collective, comparative wisdom.
We spend too little time paying attention to the good things in life. The Axiom forum is one of them.

Thank you Curtis. I've told you before that your presence is welcomed, not just here, but at every forum. I'm so mortified by today's events. Hearing you give us a verbal pat on the back means a great deal. Very gracious of you. Thanks.

It seems we get soem new nasty about every month around here. Fortunate for us, it seems we're pretty quick on the uptake.
Anyway, thanks, Curtis - you're right. This forum is the only one I post at because people are informed, polite and willing to answer stupid questions without getting annoyed.
Your sentiment is echoed.

I would also like to echo the other's sentiments and say thank you.
I keep coming to this forum for two reasons. I love my Axioms and it's nice to chat about them and with very rare exceptions people here remain civil. Something I have not seen on other forums that I joined (and eventually stopped reading).

bigjohn, don't get concerned. Your time will come again, you are a natural . On a more serious note Curtis, I agree with your comments. I'm not sure why folks tend to spin up or get cranky from time to time (its just audio, really), but this board has a pretty terrific tone and great denizens from big posters all the way to the long term occasional stop-bys.
The ability of folks to avoid taking themselves too seriously, the good input/helpful nature of the advice and the thread hijacking/breadth of OT discussions make a pretty nice combination. Keeps me coming back to enjoy the experience ( a bit less with golf season in full swing).

IMO, the issue is passion, many of us are passionate about this hobby, music, and home theater. I think when you are passionate about something, you are blind to other things.
If you are passionate and open to how others feel, I think it makes the hobby more enjoyable.
Anyways.......it would be hard for the less open minded to ruin this board, so not to worry.

Well, I don't own Axiom's (yet) but I plan to. I am definitely not here every evening because I need to do more research on what speakers I'm going to buy. I'm here because this is a great forum with great ppl.

Curtis I wish you would quit coming up with these profoundly correct concepts so I could stop fawning over you. I'm starting to feel like Uriah Heep (the Dickens character, not the band)
You made a great statement over at AVS the other day:
" Seriously.......the more you read about speakers, the more you realize how subjective it is and at some point you have to stop the madness. M.A.D. - Mad Audio Disease"
After a day like today, that makes SO much sense.
Now you come up with the passion thingy. You know how at the end of Inside The Actor's Studio on the Bravo channel, James Lipton asks the evening's guest the questions like "what's you favorite sound," etc.? One of the questions is "what turns you on"? (not sexually, you twerps) Now, we've all pretended he's asking us those questions, haven't we? My answer to that one is always "passion." I've always loved passionate people. But your point is so dead right on. Closed minded passion is nothing but tyranny. The goal is to be both passionate AND open minded to the feelings of others.
Nice stuff, Curtis. You have unsuspected depths.
