Next step: Get the Avia setup disc and a spl meter. Take your time, take your measurements, do it right, and the rewards will be unbelievable. This is money well spent.

Ok. So far so good... I also picked up the radio shack spl meter, set the range to 70db and calibrated the speakers to sit at '0' on the meter (with the receiver test tones).

Now, this receiver has the ability to set crossover frequencies (i believe that's what they are) for the front, center, and rears. The values are 60hz, 90hz, 120hz, 150hz, and 180hz. What does this mean and what would be the best values to choose?

Thanks again!

Pete,

From living with a Sony STRDB-940 for going on five years...the best bet will be either 60 or 90 for the fronts, 90 or 120 for the center and 90 or 120 for the rears...I think I finally settled on 90 for all my Axioms...but try different settings, give it a listen and make the decision what sounds best to your ears...
