Okay, for those of you who haven't read some of the other threads that were posted last night, I'm still in a state of delirious euphoria after having bought a new HSU STF-2 at CompUSA for $179. And I'm kind of sorry to say that it's really not much of a contest between the STF-2 and my old EP175. But there is one issue that concerns me: My Marantz SR5200 receiver has a fixed crossover at 100hz, and the HSU's crossover is only variable up to 90hz. So how much material am I really missing? I realize the points aren't "brick walls" at their respective points, and everything I listened to last night certainly sounds great, but now I'm a little paranoid. Thoughts, anyone?

The Stf 2 has a crossover switch on the back just turn it off and you wont miss a thing.

I'd say between you thinking everything sounds great, and the fact that the crossovers aren't brick walls you're probably safe.
I'm not familiar with the HSU models. Does it have a crossover disabler on the subwoofer itself? If so, this would solve to be the greatest solution.

D'oh!!!

You're absolutely right. Serves me right for trying to look for the switch with the sub tilted upside down and with the line-in cable plugged in. But I guess my fundamental question still hasn't changed: Based on the product specs and the variable cross knob, am I to assume that this particular sub isn't even capable of producing frequencies above 90hz?

With the crossover set to off it doesn't matter what the knob says.Running the sub with the crossover disalbed its like not having a crossover on the sub, your reciever will do the work as far as the crossover is concerned.
