I have found myself listening to the direct TV digital stations more then I would have ever thought. I don't know if it's regional, but the 800 on up channels are a varity of music, I don't turn on my Samsung, just the SIR-360 converter box. I listen to the music in "surround enhanced" mode on my Yam. The signal is digital, and in 5.1 mode (even though as a pureist I've always listened to 2 channel in the past) the sound is fantasic, it fills the room, very balanced, and the QS-8s keep right up, much better then I would have thought. Channel 839 Jazz actully rocks. Just wanted to share this, as I have surprised myself by this habit I keep doing.

I do the same as well sometimes. I even do 5 ch stereo if I'm listening from another room. The QS8's bass is pretty impressive.

which brings me to that large/small question. Did you have to set the QS8s to large to get them to play the low freqs for bass?

nope, mine are set to small. My VTF2 does take up the low end, but I still get some thru the QS8's woofers.

I hear ya. I've been listening to music in DTS Neo 6 surround on my Yammy, and actually prefer it to just straight stereo.

I actually haven't found much that sounds good in Neo 6. PLIIx always seems to sound better IMO.
PLII seems to feed the surrounds in a more balanced way, while with Neo 6 I find the surrounds are in a feast or famine status.
