First impressions - the sub hooked up to the receiver through a 6' cable and sitting in front of the AV rack.

It's loud... there's a bit of a fine balance between it being understated and too boomy, right now it's at about 25% volume, I'll have to try again after some messing around and it actually being in position. First impressions - it's a sub, and not a very musical one. This said, it was also not positioned anywhere near correctly, nor even remotely adjusted besides phase and volume level.

So far, definately the "ash snake" in the home theatre "box of fireworks"... the biggest single expenditure for the least return. And crap, I just realized I got charged for a VTF-2!!! I knew the "sales" guy put it in the wrong box, but I didn't realize he charged me for the VTF!

Augh.

That sub should be a perfect match for your M3s! Filling in the lower octave for some reason makes everything above sound much better.
