Not sure if anyone has seen this yet, but it sucks for those of us who buy stuff out of the US as everyone seems to ship with UPS these day's!

http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/about/news/work_stop_ca.html

.........and of course I just bought a HK AVR-630 that is in transit via UPS

HA! Yes, that's what just happened to me as well -- the limey bastards!!!!!!! I ordered a Harmony Remote from tigerdirect last thursday and this morning I tryed to track it and it told me that the silly monkeys decided that they weren't being paid enough!!! Kill all UPS strikers...

I was thinking of driving to Winnipeg to get the remote, but it would probably cost more to do this than I paid for the remote...

yeah. actually, I've never had trouble with UPS before...

But I did know someone who used to unload for them at the airport...or maybe it was fedex because I don't know if ups does air shipping... anyways, he said that he really lioked to "whip shitters" with the package train... unsettling, really, especially knowing that my speakers were shipped through that airport (he is now in the navy, so I know that he did not handle my speakers, but bad habits are learned, right?...

Every package is treated in this manner. They're tossed around, dropped, etc. That's why they're double boxed with lots of styrofoam. You just can't spend your time worrying about that sort of thing.

Oh, I'm not worried, all the boxes were in perfect condition (except, ironically, the ep175 -- the only speaker that was double boxed -- which had a smallish hole in it, but it looked like the hole was caused by something being stacked on top of it and the area being weakened because it was double boxed, I mean there was space between the outer box and the inner box, and so it ripped, but the inner box was not harmed and neither was the speaker.

Limey, of course, is a derogatory term for Britons, mostly the English.

I haven't verified this, but I was always told that the term comes from British sailors who suffered from scurvy (vitamin C deficiency). To counter this, trade ships would carry massive amounts of citrus fruits, including limes, on board their vessels. Thus, they came to be called "limeys." Why it is derogatory is beyond me.

Huh... I wasn't under the impression that it was derogatory. But I could easily be quite wrong.

3 Seconds? You give me more credit then I deserve. Since I ordered the HK I have been going up and down on if I should have. The 3805 is a great receiver but there was something about the HK that left me wanting more. Time will tell I guess.

well, you know, if you aren't happy with the 630 I would be happt to give it a good home untill you find someone to buy it

or, perhaps you'd take my AVR 130 and my firstborn son for it? Eh -- sounds like a good deal, RIIIIIIIGHT?

oh, and I just checked on the remote -- it's "out for delivery" I can feel my trigger finger itching...
