I have the system you are trying to decide on, VP100,M22's and 3QS8's and a Denon 1804. My sub is 10yrs old and a no name enclosed unit. I just calibrated the system today for the first time after a year and checked just how loud it could go, I managed 114db before I decided that was loud enough. My room is 12x26 and 8ft high. I think if you haven't heard the M60's once you get the M22's you won't think twice about them. At least until you move and have a bigger room then the 'bug' will bite.

That's the catch....he has heard the 60s. Otherwise, I'd agree w/ you fully. The 22s are a wonderful set of speakers.... as long as you haven't heard the 60s.
