FYI, this post is about theater (entrance) asthetics...I would appreciate your advice.

I have a larger-than-normal opening to my bonus room and I need to have a contractor reduce the frame and install double doors. I am going to go with double doors which have the 10-panel windows in them, and put some sort of pull-down blinds behind it to block out light.

Anyways, I am going to stain the doors a dark cherry. However I am not sure if I should stain the door jam as well. Has anyone considered just painting the door jam the same color as the wall? I am thinking its worth the extra $$ to stain the door jam, as it will give the theater entrance that extra piazazz look....

I figured there has to be some people out there who installed some double doors to their theater, given all the people who build their theater from the ground up!

Thanks in advance! I am getting close to finishing this thing and will post pictures when I am done.

Ok, so that probably sounded bad...

I meant as a side note that my theater is just about done, minus the doors...I will post pictures once everything is complete (for your viewing pleasure)

I will try and post some pictures tonight of the entrance as is, so you can see the "before."

Thanks.

My theatre is under construction. My dedicated room is pretty isolated except for one wall, I plan to incorporate a black curtain, that I can close/open as needed rather than making a perminant enclosed room...
