johnK is right on. i have been very impressed with the performance of the the M1ti's, when it comes to highs and mids. there is no question these speakers need assistance from a sub for any kind of listening at reference levels. especially if your brother is a 'bass-head', then you will need some additional lower-end to satisfy.
