Ray,
I put in an order for the 2900 at www.listenup.com. They had the 2900 brand new for $599. Thought that was a pretty good price?
I found so many posts on avsforum that highlight the capabilities of this player that I went ahead and just placed the order ...

Ananth, that's very exciting and a great price. I think you'll be very pleased with the 2900. Let us know how it works for you.

I've been reading more and more and it certainly seems that although the naming convention would seem otherwise, it's the 3910 that's "replacing" the 2900. The 2910 is more along the lines of the "old" 2200.
So comparing the 2900 with the 2910...in most cases the 2900 is going to win.
I may have to keep my eyes out for a bargain on a 2900 myself.

Pretty close spiff. For some reason, Denon chose to recalibrate their lines (DVD and Receiver). The 2900 actually sits between the 2910 and 3910 and gets about 80% of the distance to the 3910. The 3910 sits between the 2900 and 5900 and gets about 60% of the way to the 5900. The upcoming 5910 (at a large MSRP) will trump everythiong.
My comparison numbers might be off a bit, but you get the gist. The 2900 and 3910 are the ones that should be compared, with the 3910 getting the edge. The 2200 and 2910 should be compared, with the 2910 getting the edge.
