Is the 175 enough or do I need the 300?

Depends on the size of your room, your listening habits and your expectations. Seems like there are about 1.39 new subwoofer threads per day. Peruse a bit.

I'm trying to remember what other speakers you were looking at...
Someone on the board was looking at getting an EP175 with M60s (or 50s ?). We all tried to talk them into an EP350 instead. Axiom said "try the EP175 and upgrade if you think you need more". Don't think we ever heard a follow-up from them.
Personally, given the fairly small price difference between 175 and 350 I would go with the 350 unless my room was really small.
EDIT -- found it. BrotherBob was the poster who started with EP175. His sig now says EP350. Might be worth PM-ing him for comment... or maybe he'll see this.

Yep that was certainly 'indecisive Bob'. Man the folks at Axiom are amazing, I ordered the epic 50 system, 50s, 4s, 100 along with the 175 sub and changed my mind to upgrade the 50s to a pair of 60s and keep the rest. The 50 system arrived and while never opeing the 50s I did open one QS4, the 100 and the ep175 sub, the 60s arrived a couple of days later and connected the 60s and the 175. After a couple of days, 4 or 5 actually, and reading several members post regarding the ep350 I decided to do the upgrade, called Axiom and Noreen had a 350 shipped out that afternoon...oh yea, along with the QS8s that I also decided to upgrade.
Anyway, after listening to both the 175 and the 350 with the M60s I can tell you that I did make the right choice. With my room size of 12 x 22 x 10 I can also tell you that the 350 just seems to fill the gaps that the 175 left and fits very well with the envrionment.
I am very happy with my upgrades, the 60s are amazing, the 8s are awesome and the 350 fits perfectly...and I'm personally very happy with the 100.
Mr. Bridgman was one of the first to try to talk me into the 350...thanks, I'm glad you did!

Congratulations. I think you now hold the record for "fastest spread of the upgraditis virus outside of a petri dish".

Glad to see you kept SOMETHING from the original order

I know man, if it were somebody else instead of Axiom I do believe I'd be shot by now! These folks are just incredible...but hey, you already know that, right?

Hmmm. Let me rephrase that
Axiom's customer service surprises me anew with every order. Not "they include something extra in every shipment"

I don't know the size of your room? Heres a thought already mentioned by bidgman.....try the 175....I have a room 13x14x8 and being in the same position as many, questioned the 175 or the 350. Having used the 175 for about a month I will keep the 175. If your room is larger(or you might end up with your system in a larger room) the 350 might better suit your needs(or you could always buy another 175). The dreaded up-grade disease afflicts us all.
