Let me say I have always been one to think the amplification issue is over rated, and over stated. Well, I was wrong. Just put the last piece of my 3 piece sunfire set-up in last night, The new processor, and wow!!! I was doing a serious dis-service the the m-60s. I don't know how I can find the money for my next meal, but they have NEVER sounded so smooth, full, open yet tight, clean open detailed, I am out of adjatives. Put the sunfire grand theater 3 preamp/processor, running 2 seperate amps, a 600x2 2 channel signature bi-wired to the 60s, with a 5x400 5 channel signature for the 150, side surround QS-8s and rear 22s. Not that it ever sounded bad, it sounded good with the RXV-1500, in fact most casual observers would say real good. But the addition of that sunfire pre/pro was incredible. The 3 make a sound that makes you just want to listen for hours on end. I just cannot personally believe the difference. It's alot of "investment" (that's the word I tell my wife), but she agrees it's like night and day. I am very happy with my Axioms now reaching their full potential, and with the 2 SVS monsters don't make it bad to watch a flick either.

Well, someone has been busy while they've been away. Great to see you back on the boards man, and no doubt the Sunfire set-up is awesome! When do we get to see pics?

As soon as I figue this photobucket crap again - LOL, I went with the 3 processor and not the 4, because (this probably sounds like a real dumb reason) because the new 4 only comes in the 17" chasis, the other 2 amps are 19" chasis which I like better, I don't like craming 1200 and 2000 watts of power in the smaller cabinets. I spoke of my disapointment direct with sunfire on the chasis issue. Talk about service, they individually built a theater grand 3 in the 19" just for me! Something they don't "do" anymore. 5 years all parts all labor warranty, nice. And much less cost then the TG-4. Not cheap, but much less. They are almost the same with the 4 adding dolby II-x and not just dolby-II. It sounds silly, but I wanted them all the same size/cabinet. They sit in a vertiacl rack. You can crank em and they don't even begin to heat up even after hours. They are hand built in washington, and like Axiom, their customer service is awesome. I'll get some pics out when I fiure the stupid computer end of it out.

Sounds to me like you may be in need of a pair of 80s John...
Like you, I was so impressed with the clarity of the sound with my seperates, unbelievable clarity at any sound level.
Sounds like you did great...Congrats!

Was working on the floor tile and thought I heard my name mentioned.
Congrats on the new toys and welcome to the club of seperate owners. You have some great units and should be like I and now find more time to do nothing but listen to the system. lol

Bob, we go by Vero all the time. Just 2 weeks ago we were up in sebastian. We take the bikes (harley road king and deuce) several times to a little joint on the Idian river called sportsman inn. good fishin and riding, just good reasonable place to get out of palm beach county traffic. Bought some property in Hope Sound which is "closer"
Like it "up there"

Well then, if you ever cruise up A1A, we're right off the beach by a block and a half where 510 and A1A intersects, right near Disney's Vero Resort...stop in!
I'll PM you my phone number.

I used to go to "The Patio" every week - met my aunt from Cape Canaveral there when I was living in West Palm (hey, Canadians have no sense of distance.) Do you ever get there? We went again in January when I was visiting her for old times' sake and it was still SRO.

Amie, did you notice the recent refurb of the The Patio? It was hit hard by Hurricane Jeanne in September and I believe it was probably just reopened in January, maybe early December.
Next time you are this way give me a shout, the wife and I will buy lunch or dinner...deal?

It's a deal! Actually, all of the coast amazed me - Cape Canaveral sustained a ton of damage too. The stories everyone told were so hard to believe. Glad the good ole' Patio rallied though!

Cool!
It's amazing Amie, during Frances we fled north to Jacksonville but during Jeanne we stayed right here on the island a block from the beach, went outside a couple of times and couldn't believe how limber the huge oak trees were! We actually had the east side of our house stripped of the paint by the blowing saltwater, was wild! It will be several years before things are back to normal, but we'll still be here and the offer will always stand!

Thanks Amie, when I talked to Alan and wanted to audition the EP600, he had no one in the west palm area (I am in lake worth - same thing) You couldn't have slipped one of those little subs in a carry-on travel bag so I could of had a listen???

No room for a little, sub, unfortunately: the EP600 I was carting as a hostess gift sucked up all my weight allowance . . .
Sidebar - have you ever noticed the skinniest girls have the most luggage? It's weird. You'd think since they're so small, their clothes would be so small . . .

Hey, do you and Ian want to come over for beer and pizza? No need to bring anything, y'know... unless you really, really *cou-EP600-gh* want to!
There'll be a veggie plate!

I asked my wife about this once. Her take was that the skinny girls get invited down to stay and hang around while the chunky girls only get invited down for the weekend

So where does that put the "just right" girls? 3 - 4 days?

They can stay until the day before your wife gets home from wherever she is.

No. I will never have a better response to any question than that. I have reached the pinnacle of my forum career, it is time to hang up my keyboard and go out on a high note. Retire my number!

I'm bach'ing it tonight, too... good night for it... a couple of old buddies popped by... one's got a Jeep with 33" tires. Went out off roading for a bit tonight. Haven't done that since I was 16. You bite your nails a lot less in a CJ than in a Tracker, lemme tell you... especially when he's got another set of body panels in his garage waiting to be installed and painted.

Speaking of Jeeps, how'd you like to get your hands on this Jeep for a test drive?

Peter I watched that thing a little while back on some auto show on TV, it's really amazing, it will do a 360 and never exceed the radius of the length of the jeep! I was impressed...but could you even begin to imagine the cost of such a contraption!

And the idea behind a Jeep (I mean a real Willys Citizen's Jeep) is that any monkey can fix it. Keep removing bolts until whatever it is falls out. (That's what the Chilton manual says - it's a pamphlet!)

a buddy of mine here in town has an original Willis jeep, that was handed down to him from his father.. he had the motor rebuilt and some body work done on it, and it is a pretty neat ride.. i have never been off roading with him in it, but we have putted around town.. i cant say much for its comfortable ride, cause it dont have one. very rough, bouncy, jerky, and it pitches from right to left pretty bad. makes lots of noise, and the clutch and shifting were unsmooth... but, the coolness factor override all that.. cause when you ride in that thing, people look..
