Hey guys,

Several months ago, my friend's wife accidentally knocked one of my 22's off its stand. It still works fine, but it slightly dented in the vinyl on one edge. Yesterday, my wife noticed that the vinyl's starting to separate and peel away from the MDF siding. Crappers! Any suggestions???

Thanks,
JT

put it back on with some glue, maybe elmers or wood glue. Then tape it in place with some painters tape to keep it in place while the glue dries.

I'd lean towards a water-based contact cement... won't react with the vinyl and holds like no one's business (as good as the really stinky stuff).

I've had my speakers since mid December, and I have a couple of spots where the vinyl is coming off to, and my speakers have never fallen, been bumped, or anything. Mainly in the corners where two edges meet. Very strange...

Are they in a high moisture environment?

I was a bit concerned that mine would be below ground level - the basement here is dry (but by virtue of being underground - they're always the wettest floor of the house - unless you're roofless!) and I've never had so much as an air bubble on any of them.

They have been in our basement for about 6 weeks is all. Our basement is a walkout, so it gets fresh air daily like the rest of our house when we go out to the backyard. It has always been very dry. Makes me wonder if the slight peeling happened prior to them going into th basement. We used to have the M60s and Vp150 near our gas fireplace on the main floor for a couple of months. The 60s were about 2 feet to the side of the fireplace, and the 150 was pretty protected by the large mantle that it sat on.
