When I watch movies I want to be able to feel the waves hitting me. Not LOUDNESS, but feel such things as the goblin army in TLOTR marching out of from Mordor. Does the EP 500 move the air in this manner? When I was listening to the Klipsch speakers one of the subs did this very well, I can't remember which, but it did a good job.

I may not have a clue as to what I am describing as I am definitely a newbie at this stuff but I am learning everyday. Anyway, I guess what I am asking is simply this, Can this sub do this without having to crank up the volume to undesireable levels. I want the sound to be pure and not distorted, but also put me into the scene as well. I hope that I have described this correctly. Is there anyone out there that can answer this for me? I am considering purchasing the Epic 60 500 system. I keep coming close to pushing the buy button but haven't yet.

Thanks

Can't speak for the 500 yet, thinking about getting one for a second sub for my larger basement. I'm sure others will chime in here that have the 500. All I can say is with the 350, and a volume set on the sub at about 45-50%, and the receiver set to 0dB's, I feel right in the middle of the explosions of Star Wars, and movies like the Incredibles are just that, Incredible. The 500 goes lower than the 350, and based on the new digital technology, it should do exactly what I think your describing.

The EP 500 does exactly what you want. I've had mine a month and revisiting all my dvd collection. First dvd in was U-571. Upstairs you can't hear the sub but you feel it. I like the grill off so I can watch the driver pulsing, even when you can't hear it.

I have not heard an EP500 yet but based on specs and owners comments it should be a perfect fit for what you want. The 500 plays very deep into the low frequencies and is very flat... you are basically paying for that deep flat frequency response more than "super loud" playback which I think is what you are looking for.

Just a check; how big is your room and how open is it to adjoining spaces ?

my room is 20 X 13.6 X 8. It is connected to my kitchen area. It is basically one big open room split into two sections. There isn't any barrier between the two. With that in mind it adds another 20 x 13.6 x 8 behind my couch where I sit.
