LOL! logged in this morning and was stunned to see that the had been 5 new posts and 235 new replies to the 5th forum. I thought "HOLY CATS! Somebody started another speaker break in thread, and all hell's broken loose!"
Naturally I immediately clicked on the link to see what the heck had happened. And there they were.............................................................5 OLD threads with maybe one or two overnight replies I hadn't seen. What the.......?
So now I'm thinking there must be a glitch in the software. And how come there are only 5 threads in "The Water Cooler"? What's going on here? Back to the list of forums page. Wait a minute! There are SIX forums now. Hearing Things? What's that? Oh. "Audition list, get togethers, meets and greets" Comes the dawn!
It's very unfair to force an old guy with only half a brain to be so confused this early in the morning. As the TV commercial says, "I fear change."

No kidding Jack, I thought you were nuts at first, as I was trying to figure out what you were talking about. It must be early, and I need my Dew as it took me a few minutes to recognize the new category also...

Funny, I've never been a coffee drinker but I could'nt get a day started without at least one 12 oz can of Diet Dr Pepper....I guess caffine is caffine regardless of the carrier.

Diet Pepper is actually pretty good, on Monday's our company has free pop day, we get one free can of pop. A lot of times I'll drink Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi...not bad.

I just figured - hey - y'all have been asking for the Audition thread to be somewhere clearer . . .
Of course, as usual, taking suggestions - I thought it would be good if it had any get together stuff in it so I moved some sample threads. But suggestions welcome!

I think it is a great idea. The only problem is that newbies still start new threads for auditions, when all they have to do is look at your thread that is hard coded to be at the top of the list always. Maybe you should rename your thread "Newbies, check here first"

Maybe add an instruction to that "New User" link.

Is it just me or is has anybody else noticed that whenever a new reply shows up in the new 'Hearing Things' forum on the main page, I'll go to the 'Hearing Things' forum to look for the new reply and its not showing up on that page in the usual parenthesis along with the number of new replies?

Sorry to say but no. I'm seeing it too. New posts in "Hearing Things" show up from the main index, but once inside "Hearing Things" there's no indication of which threads have been posted to, they all show up as though you've read everything in them. Once you click on a thread though, it does still indicate which posts you haven't read, and it starts you at the "first new" position in that thread. (just as one would expect)

Same, I'm using Firefox 1.0.4.
The (# new) and darker icon shows up at the "Main Index" but not one I am inside "Hearing Things". Then once I enter a thread, I see the post icon color difference for new posts in that thread.
