Ok, I have bought the M60s and VP150 center channel and I'm using my old polk mains as my rears for now. My question is will the svs pb1-isd be plenty for my room size? The size is 14 feet by 16 feet with 8 feet ceilings.

ER, I assume that you read the results of the SVS/Hsu shootout that I linked in your previous thread. From a study of those figures it would appear that the triumphant PB1 can blow you right out of that 14' x 16' room.

Whoa! Blow me out of the room? Thats gonna be loud bass. I had the Infinity BU-120 subwoofer and it was pretty loud but didn't go low enough and sold the sub to my friend for cheap price. So now I think I'm gonna try that svs box sub....its tempting!

I share in your feelings. Though I'm past temptation...I'm just diving in...cannonball style and getting an SVS sub as well. Placing the order this Friday actually.

ereed,

As JohnK mentioned, the PB1 will be more than enough. I have one in a 12' by 13' by 8' room and I don't even have the volume knob turned up 1/4 of the way. And when you say "not big enough" I think you'll be very surprised by how big it actually is.

SVS subs are not what they appear, apparently. All I hear from them is they are big, loud, deep, clean, and controlled. If I didn't get a good price on my EP350 I would have bought an SVS box sub (I would never buy one of their cylinder subs, I don't like the look).

The EP350 does get criticized here and there, but I'm very happy with it. It's much better than a whole lot of subs out there.

I have a PB1 in a room about 12' X 25', and it is more than enough. It can go so much louder than I have it set up for, so I wouldn't be too concerned in your room. It is a sweet-sounding sub to boot.

Nah, I'm guessing spiff feels the same way I do. As long as they saddle an HSU or SVS (with Axiom as the dark horse), it really doesn't matter which one they end up riding. Damn, where did all that horse stuff come from?

However John, you have now emerged as the Conrad Dobler of the forum!!
