Sound from all the speakers in the cabinet?

I own a pair of M22's and have been absolutely thrilled with the sound. I am not the original owner of these speakers but have been using them for six months now. As stated, the sound has been outstanding.
Yesterday, however, when I was comparing the difference in sound output from wav and mp3 and Monkey Audio files through my Logitech Squeezebox Duet, I had occasion to place my ears right next to the various components on the M22 (the two woofers and then the tweeter).
What I discovered was that on one of the speakers - I could distinctly hear sound from the tweeter - and from one of the two woofers (the top one) – but there appeared to be no sound whatsoever from the other matching woofer at the bottom. On the other speaker the same thing - however it was the top one that had no sound and there was definite sound from the bottom woofer.
Turning up the speakers considerably and holding my hand in front of the components - in front of the tweeters I could feel impact on my hand and in front of one of the woofers the same thing - however - the other woofer with the diminished sound output didn't create this type of air movement but if I touched the component it was definitely vibrating.
Is this normal behavior for these M22's or do I have something wrong? All the other stereo speakers I have in my house all just have one tweeter and one larger cone so I have nothing to compare it to.
Thanks for any input. These speakers are truly outstanding.

You could have blown a driver - it happens no matter how good the speakers are. I've had my towers for almost 10 years and a tweeter blew in year 3. The other drivers, no problems whatsoever. It just happens.
Axiom can hook you up with a replacement and tell you how to test it to be sure it is dead. Call or email them. Others will likely jump in soon to tell you how to test it. But your method seems good enough, but you will want to make sure the plugs did not come undone inside the cabinet before you order a new driver.

Did you try switching them (l/r r/l) and play the exact same tracks to see if it is not just stereo effect?

Thank you for the tips so far. I am going to switch the speakers left and right to see if that makes any difference - as EFalardeau suggested previously. If the drivers are the issue then the bottom one with no sound should now be on the right and the middle one with no sound should be on the left.
I'll then pull the drivers out that don't work and see if the connectors have come loose. The guy I bought the speakers from did tell me they had been transported through two moves before he sold them to me.
If neither of those work to restore full sound to the drivers I'm betting then they are blown - interestingly enough how it's one on each side - and then I'll get in touch with Axiom about replacements.
I will post the results of my test and findings later.

OK - switching the speakers from one side to the other just resulted in the same condition I had before - just reversed. Still one supposed dead speaker in each cabinet.
I then took out one of the dead units - and jiggled the connectors. That did not restore the sound.
I then took the working speaker from the other cabinet - hooked it up on the other side in place of the dead speaker - and - wow - the sound lit up from both units on that side. Of course that left my other side with tweeter only operating - grin.
So - it appears I do have two dead drivers. With one driver and one tweeter on each side I guess they are operating like M2's instead.
I will email Axiom in this regard unless there is another link or method that you all know of to get these replaced. As a newbie I don't know about such things.
Thanks for the pointers. Bummer about my speakers. If they sound this great with only one working driver I can't wait to hear how they sound with the full compliment of components operating.

I'm not sure how the replacement driver thing works, Larry, but you might want to include the serial #(s) of your speakers or have them ready in case Axiom asks.

Not being the original owner he will most likely have to purchase a couple of 5.25" drivers. I don't recall them being very expensive though.
BTW, welcome to the forum.

Fianl update - as suggested by wid the drivers were a paid item as the speakers are out of warranty and I am not the original owner - but - at less than $50USD they were very reasonable to replace. The order is already processed and on its way and I should have 100% operational units by the end of this week.
Thank you everyone for pointing me in the right direction regarding trouble-shooting, etc.
Larry
