I was thinking of making a purchase of the Epic 80 speaker
package , was wondering what a recommended reciever would
be to power up these speakers , then again maybe im going
too much right away . I currently live in a condo and the living
room isnt huge so maybe the Epic 80 system isnt for me. Maybe someone has adive on that too. thanks.

Chromance, welcome. The speakers in the Epic 80 are average or slightly higher in sensitivity and don't have any unusual requirements as far as a power source goes. Any of the popular makes such as Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha, etc. with the features that you want and a price that fits your budget should work well. If you'd care to specify your price range and anything special that you're looking for, maybe some specific suggestions could be made.

As far as to whether the M80s are too much, you should be able to sit at least 8-9' away, but you can of course adjust the sound level of any speaker to suit the situation; big speakers don't mean that you have to play them very loudly. M80 users report that they can be delicate as well as powerful.

price range for a reciver maybe up to $1000 buck
I doubt i'd be playing these speakers loud. Would be
nice to crank it once in awhile ,but mostly for easy
listening of music and to watch movies and tv.

I have M80s and a Denon 1804(90W/ch) in a 12X16 space but they are in a corner and I sit about 7' away. the M80s are amazing at all volume levels, very detailed and full sounding at low volumes as well as when being played loud.

Axiom recommends Denon,Sherwod Newcastle-which they sell, Nad, Harmon Kardon, Yamaha for amps/receivers that can handle the 4ohm load easily. The new Onkyos appear to be working well with the M80s, as a few here have them.

You may want to check out the hearing things forum - auditions thread, to see if there is anyone near you to have a listen to some Axioms.

An excellent choice, well within your budget at about $550 with free shipping, is the factory refurb Onkyo 705 .

Or you could go with a Denon AVR988 also well with in your budget. AS you can see you have lots of options.
