Thanks for the continuing ideas. My biggest issue seems to be finding something with a shelf that fits the VP150. According to Sony, the TV needs 4" on either side and the back, as well as 12" above of open space for proper ventilation. That makes an enclosure for the TV difficult, so I am looking for something 18"-24" high (the lower the better) that will fit the center on a shelf along with everything else. The studio techs don't look like they have a spot for the center, otherwise they might work (if they'd pass WAF, of course). As far as custom goes, ventilation was mentioned. I'll be covered on the TV, since it will just be sitting on top of the unit, but what about the other components. How much do I really need for the receiver, DVD, etc. Space is going to be a bit tight, so I don't have a lot of extra built in for that on the shelving with what I am thinking so far. I'm only looking at an inch or so above and on the sides of each device, is this not enough?

Wire management will likely be through holes in the back of the wood in the stand, so that all of the cables can hide behind the stand.

For ventilation, I would suggest this-http://www.performanceaudio.com/cgi/pages.cgi?buildPage=item&ProductID=006741 and this/these-http://www.performanceaudio.com/cgi/pages.cgi?buildPage=item&ProductID=002304
Dennis has this setup in his enclosed cabinet, theres pictures in a giant thread from last feb or so.There's even an led temp readout with probe if you wanna look cool. I am utterly amazed at the amount of heat my processor generates without amplification.
The diamond case features a removable back for ease of wiring- something to consider.
Bloody links...

The search is over!! Don't know if anyone cares at this point, but we've found the stand we are going to get. I'm not sure if this is the site we are getting it from, but here's a link Stand

BTW...I love how much easier it is to put in links since the boards were upgraded.

Anyway, we looked at bigger units, but decided in the end that we didn't want to switch what wall everything was on. The furniture would not fit in the room as well and we'd only be about 8 feet from the TV, which might be ok for some, but when you factor in that we are about 12 feet now and the TV will be much bigger, we decided against that.

A new stand might still be in our future when we move someday and have a different room to play with, but this is it for now. The stand will hold the 50" TV no problem. I'm not sure about the 55". Depth on the 55" is 18.9, the stand is 18.25. I would assume the base of the TV is not actually 18.9, so it might work. I'm pretty sure the 60" won't work, and don't think I want to go quite that big anyway.

Thanks for everyone's help throughout the process.

Nice stand and a GREAT price. The stand looks smaller in the picture than 58"?
I bookmarked that site.
