It is hard to go wrong with any of the brands mentioned on this thread.

It's a bit more money than you were speaking of, but I'm a big fan of Rotel products and they recently released a new receiver with dual HDMI inputs.

Cy, I have the Denon 2805 which is about a 1.5yrs old. My room is 30ft x 30ft and it has no problems driving my 7.1 system. The 2807 is newer, so you would have no issues.

Also, wherever you buy it, make sure you purchase from a reputible local retailer or online etailer, otherwise, the warranty may not apply.

Sirquack,

Have you had problems with your Denon? I live in Canada and am considering buying a referbed 2805 from ecost.com for $530CAD which is perfect for me. I am not planning on worrying about the warranty becuase I am expecting the 2805 to last for a long time without a service call.

I purchased my Denon AVR-885 (AVR-2105) from Ecost and it has been operating flawlessly for well over a year now. There is a repair depot locally that handles Denon products so I am not too concerned.
