I am trying out a pair of the M3's and wonder about placement - does it matter how high they sit off the ground? My wife would prefer that they do not sit up too high. I notice that the M22's (which are about 6.5 inches taller) seem to be designed to sit on the floor - would the M-3's on a 6.5" stand do well? I am also thinking of trying the M22's - how do they sound compare to the M-3's?

Placement of the loudspeakers from a height point of view will have a minimal effect on the performance of the loudspeakers, the sound will remain the same but the soundstage will move up and down with the loudspeakers. The M22 performance is quite similiar to the M3 except the power handling and sensitivity are higher in the M22. Unless high output is a desirous parameter for yourself I would stay with the M3s.
