I was quite excited yesterday when a package arrived from Axiom. My Audiobytes had arrived! I've been waiting for these for about 2 years when speculation on the boards started that Axiom might just release some speakers designed for the PC, so this was quite a treat. First the obligatory picture:

I think they look very nice. Fit and finish are typical Axiom, which of course is very good. A real treat was the blue light semi-circle around the bottom of the volume control. Nice touch that makes it easy to find the knob. Interestingly enough, it exactly matches the power switch for my LCD monitor (although it's difficult to tell from this picture).

They sound very good to me. I'll certainly be getting the matching subwoofer soon (hopefully a nice birthday present for myself in a few months). But the bass is much better than I figured it would be. Previously, I had a pretty nice cambridge soundworks speaker/sub woofer setup for my PC, and with the exception of a little less bass, these Axioms sound much better.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a picture and my excitement!

Nice!

Please tell me you cleared your desk for this photo or I'm going to feel really bad about how my desk looks! \:\)

Frank,

I hope you enjoy them. Judging by the position of that gain knob, it looks like you need to join my half watt club \:\) .

Wow, they're larger than I thought. That's a 19" widescreen, right? That's one of my monitors at home...

Perhaps these will end up as a bedroom system like my wife wants.

For the width, well... they have to put a 3" woofer in there! \:\)
But, for the volume, they are 5.12 times smaller than the M2, 6.6 times small than the M3, 8 times smaller than the M22 and 43 times small than the M80! ;\)

Yeah, actually, it's a 20" monitor and I love it. I just wish I had a bigger desk so that I could get two of them. Upgrade-ites never ceases. \:\)

And yeah Spiffnme, I had to clean for the photo-shoot. You should see the side of the desk that's cropped out!

You know, the more I listen to these little speakers, the more I like them. Right now I'm listening to Andy Mckee and I'm just amazed by the reproduction of the sound of the guitar. It seems so natural.
