I was quite surprised to find that I like their new single -- looks like they've heard the "sell out" criticism long enough (though they were PAINFULLY slow to catch on) and have finally gone back to their roots. Looking forward to the whole album.

I'm not sure if this is anti-metal enough, but there's a interesting NY Times article on the new album.

Wish I could hear the songs...

I am interested to hear this new Metallica cd. I'll definitely purchase it. They are playing in Vancouver on December 2 which I am looking forward to. \:\)

Cool article. I am really starting to get excited for the new album because the new songs are getting better every time I listen to them, where at first I wasn't sure.

I just hope and pray that the production is top notch this time...

I listened to a couple of minutes of it (didn't watch the video part), and I wasn't overly impressed. Seemed like a decent song, interesting riff, but it was a little slow. Maybe it gets better.

it does get better. Still not as good as good metallica. Their flame is practically fizzled.

It would help if they wrote songs instead of recording little riffs and then setting them on repeat.
