While working this morning, I have "An Evening with Godsmack...Live from the House of Blues" DVD playing in the background (It was included with the Best-of "Ten Years of Godsmack" CD). Excellent CD and DVD. Anyway, during the concert, Sully mentions that the inspiration for a particular song was taken from Neil Pearts' Ghost Rider book. I didn't even realize that Peart had written books. Anybody ever read one? Any good? The specific book linked to above deals with his 55,000 mile, 14-month motorcycle "find his self" journey after his wife and daughter died. It sounds like an interesting book....

I started that book a couple of years ago but didn't finish it, not so much because it was bad (it wasn't, it was pretty decent), but because I am not that big of a reader.
I have thought about picking it up again, and another of his, the one about road songs, seems interesting as well. He's an extremely literate guy.
I'd say go for it.

Ghost Rider is a very interesting read when you see how far Neil has come from his personal tragedies. The Masked Rider: Cycling In West Africa is worth reading as well. When you finish this book you wonder why anyone would take on such an excursion! I haven't gotten around to reading his other two books yet however they are on my list.

*bump - this is copied from my blog*
This is my first week back at work after a Disney (WDW) vacation. While down there, I went to the Virgin Megastore and spent a couple of hours browsing CDs, picking up a lot of $5, $8, and $10 specials.
When Nolan (my 3 year old) found out I went to the CD store, he asked (unprompted, I swear), "Was there a new Rush?"
Talk about a proud papa moment.

Time to get him a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass. He's actually more into the drums, so I guess I'll have to get him the 14,582 piece Peart kit from that workshop in Indiana ... LOL
