Saw 'August Rush' last night. I think it is more a fable a la Pan’s Labyrinth minus the cool SpEf; if you watch it from that perspective it is quite good.

I think I may be the most disagreed-with person on the board. Charles, I disagree.

Last night I was browsing in the video rental store when I found Baraka in the... drama section?? After watching it I really don't know how you would categorize this movie. Perhaps the 'recommended' section?
Anyway, WOW! I was a little worried at first that I would be dissapointed after the rave reviews here, but it is one impressive movie.
I thought the audio track was every bit as good as the imagery. In some ways this soundtrack would be a good showcase for the M80s in that they use a lot of different instruments.
My favourite scene was the time-lapse of the traffic set to percussion.

My local Blockbuster now carries BluRay. Woo hoo! Fortunately, my neighbors don't have a lot of blu ray players...yet. Wait until Black Friday. Watched Superbad. Eh, wasn't as funny as the hype. Iron Man was incredible. I've been getting into my graphic novels recently and Tony Stark is bada... Downey was great casting. And the walk in at the end for the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D was even better casting. I can't imagine a better fit for theat new character. The sound was great, my VTF2 was shaking the house that my wife kept coming back to yell at me... Granted I have to put it loud to mask the PS3 fan. Can't wait to go back and get Hulk and Indiana Jones.
