Congrats on the M22s. I'm only using one as a center channel, but I would love to try a pair out as the mains in a system. I do think I would prefer them to the M3s, even though I'm happy with the M3s where they are.

Keep the upgrades going!

Congratulations on the new toys.

I have heard M22's and $1000 bookshelf speakers, the M22's hold there own and could easily be considered of the same SQ as $1000 speakers but why spend the extra money if you don't have to just for the pretty wrapper? smile

I got a ButtKicker today, after a two month wait, and a canceled order at Amazon. Got it directly from Guitammer, and that's probably a good thing because the amp keeps going into thermal protect. I've e-mailed their support address, but probably won't hear from them until Monday.

Still getting things dialed in, which is hard to do when the amp cuts off after an hour. But first impressions are good, and it should only be better once I get it mounted directly to my couch, rather than having it sitting on the pad.

I hope your amp problem gets resolved quickly. When my first amp went out they replaced it very quickly no questions asked. Since then I’ve had no problems for almost 5 years using it regularly.

I’m looking forward to hearing how you like it once you get it dialed in. I found that like with most new toys I cranked it a little high at first but later found that I like it best when it accentuates the low bass rather and overpowering what’s coming from the sub.

Tried another test with a portable music player, to rule out a source issue. Discovered something very strange, when fed a full-range signal, I could hear the lyrics coming out of the amp. I don't mean: out of the binding posts, along the wire and reproduced by the transceiver. No, coming out of the amp. I think something might be broken. Flipping the high-cut switch did stop the singing amp, though.

On the good news front, Guitammer contacted me, on a Saturday, to say that it seems that something is wrong with my amp. And that I should give them a call on Monday to initiate an exchange.

Odd that you are hearing it coming from the amp. Might want to keep it away from anything else to prevent whatever is doing it causing bleed-over to other channels.

One of the advantages of the BK + amps system over other transducers is the variable low pass filter. Without it other or a separate LPF other transducers can suffer from “voice in butt syndrome” where you feel people’s voices in your backside. Don’t suppose that enhances the reality of many movies, mainstream anyway (anticipating Mark). wink

Glad to hear they contacted you so quickly. I found dealing with them on my exchange was excellent.

The amp isn't with the rest of my equipment, but over by the couch. I went with a longer RCA cable, and a shorter speaker run. So the likelyhood of cross-talk is minimal. Still I don't think output devices should make that much noise. It could be related to the defect.

My subs don't reach that low. I found, using low frequency sweeps that I like the high-cut set to about 57 Hz. That should still keep the voice out of my butt.
