OK, so I could waste a decade or two. Maybe that's why I never really got serious about gaming.

Agreed, that's why while I like many types of games, I pick one or two each year that I will actually sink some time into. PS3 demos are great - you can waste half an hour having fun for free but not feel the need to actually advance.

I didn't know there was a Bejeweled 2. I am so out of touch.

I can't get enough of Splinter Cell Conviction, it's such a wicked game. My mom enjoys playing it with me, just as much as I enjoy playing it smile . She's pretty darn good too.

Go Mom! smile

My mom just discovered the internet last year. Fortunately, she seems to have skipped right over the "forward every silly email that comes my way" phase of internet acclimatization. smile

Yup, Peter, my mom is pretty cool smile (regrettably, I do tend to give her a harder time then she deserves).

My mom also forwards just about every single e-mail that she receives. It's gotten better recently, as she knows I absolutely despised chain emails.

Finally gave in and bought a new video card so I could play Civilization V. Spec-wise the card I had should have been fine, but there's a bug in the game and a few cards simply don't work. Lucky me owned one of the buggy cards. Whatever.

Back to 2:30am-3:00am nights playing that damn game! God I love it so.

On the PS3 front, we recently bought Rock Band 3 and dusted off the guitar and drum set. I'd forgotten how fun that game is. The best news is that I just found out today that Guitar Hero: Van Halen is compatible with all of our Rock Band instruments! I hadn't bought it because I thought I'd have to purchase new gear! Rock on!!! Van Halen here I come! (You think I'll be able to do the kicks and splits like David Lee Roth???)

Oh, I've been trying so hard to ignore Civ V... also, welcome back, Craig! Stick around, the water's... weird.

Is there any Rock Band software compatible with Guitar Hero controllers? I'm kind of in the opposite situation as Craig Lee Roth.
