I think my sister may have mentioned that one to me. I'll have to check it out sometime.

I just watched Quantum of Solace. I liked it enough for the one viewing. Like Casino Royale, I don't anticipate needing to watch it again anytime soon. I like the completely different feel the franchise reboot has going, though, and if nothing else, it's a gorgeous-looking movie.

I finished season 6 of Law & Order. A young Jennifer Garner was in the final episode, and her dimples were effective even back then.

Finally watched the last 2 disks of “Death Note.” Thankfully, the story got back on track with the same style as the early episodes. Unfortunately the ending was mundane and overly drawn out. I was hoping for a certain plot twist at the end that would have made this the greatest anime story I’ve seen but instead it just limps across the finish line. Still a great anime but have to give it only 4 1/2 out of 5 stars for what IMO was a lame ending that was out of character with the rest of the rollercoaster ride that was this series.

Dean, sounds like you're describing this season's "24", the end kind drew out alot then seemed anticlimatic...still a good season, but the final hour is more to "wrap it up" as the story wound down. Still, I'd give it a 4 out of 5 sta....err, bullets to the knee cap.

I'd agree with that. There was still so much good stuff throughout the series, but you're right, the ending could have been a lot stronger. Not that I would have any idea how to end it better. Meanwhile, another series that I liked, Fruits Basket, didn't do a lot for me until the end. Then I liked it a lot. It has to be the hardest thing in the world to get it all right.

I was sort of watching 24 for the first time this season. I switched to second shift a while ago and those guys have been watching it. Overall I thought it was ok but haven’t seen the last episode.

Thanks for the info on “Fruits Basket,” it’s somewhere in my queue right now. I agree it’s got to be tough pulling off a whole series and my criticism of “Death Note’s” ending is only based on how outstanding most of the rest of it was.

Great Teacher Onizuka

One of my friends really liked this anime series, so I'm trying it out. There are some good moments, but overall, I wouldn't say it's a classic. Maybe I'll change my mind as it progresses.

There are too many series out there.

I need some suggestions on what should be my second Blu-ray purchase. The reason I'm saying "second" is because I just ordered Baraka.

I would say that it has to be an action movie, and definitely not a box set, because I don't have a lot of cash to fork out. I just want reference video and audio (something in 7.1?).

That said, I have checked out the top rated list at Blu-ray.com, and they have Sin City and The Dark Knight rated as #2 and #4 respectively. I really enjoyed The Dark Knight, but haven't seen or know anything about Sin City.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
