Yeah, it was pretty rough in spots and thought it could have been a lot better with the material involved. Also, I'm not the biggest Adam Sandler fan.

I, Robot on Blu-ray. The movie itself is ok but the DTS HD Master soundtrack is outstanding.

If any of us articulate their thoughts well, it's you Charles. I wouldn't be too concerned. I look forward to your well articulated thoughts daily.

I finally saw The Dark Night the night. Very good movie. I liked it better than Star Trek.

Flipping through channels on Saturday, I came across a TV series I hadn't seen before, Whale Wars on Animal Planet.

It was, well, interesting. I didn't really like it, but I didn't really hate it. It was somewhat fascinating. In a nutshell, it's about a group of environmentalists who have a ship and are trying to stop the illegal (in their view) poaching of whales near Antarctica by Japanese whaling ships. A fine and noble cause, I suppose. But the things they do to the whalers, wow. I'm surprised that with the recent drama of Somali pirate attacks, that the show is still on the air. As it's the kind of show that over-politically-correct/nervous network execs might pull for fear of public outcry. What they do, IMHO, is pretty close to high-seas piracy. Seriously, if US-flagged vessels were being harassed by some group like this, I suspect there'd be widespread calls for the US Navy to intervene.

Anyway, it was fascinating enough that I watched a couple of hours worth of it. ;\)

Then I watched two movies this weekend:

Deception, staring Ewan McGregor and Hugh Jackman. Somewhat 'blah'. Not bad, but not really great. Sort of boring, though the ending was a bit of a surprise. I did like the way these two worked together though - they make for an interesting pair. "C+".

Rigtheous Kill, starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. I had wanted to see this movie for awhile now. I mean, DeNiro + Pacino. That has to be good, right? Nope! Probably the worst movie with either of those usually-great actors I've ever seen. I know these two can have good chemistry together. There wasn't any of it in this one. Really boring and *extremely* predictable. I'm not the smug type that boasts about figuring out 'who did it' early on in a movie, but this one was ridiculous. See it if you must, but be prepared for a let-down. "D"

I really appreciate reviews like PeterC's.

Reading it made me wonder whether it is worthwhile for us to find some web mechanism to share our ratings. I would certainly like to have a centralized resource of what my Axiom friends have enjoyed (besides this thread, I mean). I know I am overly inclined to "build a database for it!" because of my work, but there ARE ways, aren't there? Facebook or Netflix or something?

Well, if you write the db backend and a web interface, I'm sure Axiom would host it.

Um, no, thanks, Fred. That was the path I was trying to AVOID!

Facebook has a rating feature, and you can connect with friends on Netflix, too. I just tried inviting you to connect, but the feature is temporarily down.

I only watched a couple of episodes when it was on the air. I can see why it didn't last, but I'm still enjoying it.
