I've been trying out the first season of True Blood. It's a well-made show, and entertaining enough, but the whole vampire thing just doesn't work for me. I've never seen or read any vampire stuff that I've really liked. Plus, there's a bit too much sex for me. It just ends up making me feel uncomfortable.
I feel the same way. My sister loves anything to do with vampires, and I can't get into the vampire thing at all. I forced myself to read Interview with the Vampire to see what all the hype was about and I hated it. The movie did little to change my opinion. I did manage to catch a bit of True Blood--it was entertaining, but I turned it off after twenty minutes or so.

That could be the material that unlocks the vampire mystique for those of us on the fence. You become a billionaire--books, movie deals, lunch boxes. . .

Speaking of Vampires, I watched "Låt den rätte komma in" on Blu-Ray last week. It was an interesting flick with some good suspense.
Anyone see it? What did you think?

I liked it too. It seemed more real than the countless other(cheesy) vampire flicks I've seen. Good story. The child actors were convincing.
The only negative part were the subtitles. Some of them didn't make sense and had me dumbfounded. I learned, after watching the movie, they were translated wrong. Besides the minor subtitle goof, it didn't ruin the movie for me.
I hear a new release is on the way with the correct (theatrical) subtitles. Perhaps I'll have to watch it again in the very near future.

Where's that universal translator when you need it?
