Tried Torchlight tonight, as they have a free two hour demo that you can play. I actually wasn't that impressed. Maybe it's all the time I spent playing Diablo 2 years ago, but it felt like the same thing, without as good of graphics. The somewhat cartoonish look didn't do it for me. Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. Artistically, it's not in the same league as Diablo, and the story is nothing special (so far--I have more to play still, but I'm doubting it will turn into anything amazing). The gameplay also doesn't blaze any trails, but it's still the sort of gameplay I get into rather easily.

I've been playing or attempting to play Demons Souls on the ps3, great game but not your normal easy RPG.

Has anyone tried Left 4 Dead 2? It's a must if you enjoyed the first.
Valve improved on every aspect of the original. The new Special Infected help to prevent players from camping, making the game more difficult and requiring players to work together as a team to survive.
I've played four out of the five campaigns available, and enjoyed each one. My personal favorites are Dark Carnival and Hard Rain.

Deeper into DragonAge now and still very impressed with the storyline. NPC interactions are well thought out instead of just plot pushers written as a side project by the building janitors who barely speak English, like in some games.
I got a great kick out of a Dwarven guard who was deciding weather or not my party or the enemies would be allowed access to the great underground Dwarven City. Something along the line of, "I don't care if the lot of ya tear each other to pieces, but take it off my stone steps."

Interesting, I don't find the pace slow at all for an RPG. But then again, I'm an old school RPGer. It's all faster than pen and paper.
I just finished the intervention in the civil unrest to name a new Dwarven king. It was a great side story with lots of ethical choices to be made to determine the outcome. Tough boss fights though. it was the first time I had to use the pause button a lot to rethink strategy.
